Prepare to compete in our second annual Bloomin’ Air Paint Out!

Join local Plein Artists and Bloomin Arts exhibitors on Sunday, March

8, 2026 as they Paint and express “Bartow in Bloom” via form,

structure, value and color in variety of art mediums. This event is open

to all artists wishing to paint in Plein Air.  Early registration online

through Lakeland Arts Association is $30.  To register onsite the day of

the event will be $35. Bloomin’ Arts exhibitors will be able to compete

for free, information will be provided for you in your artist packet. This

is a “rain or shine” event, there will be no refunds for inclement

weather. 

Timeline for event:

Event Date: Sunday, March 8, 2026

Artists will check in on site Sunday March 8, 8-9 am.  Artists will have

up to two surfaces stamped for painting. Registration will be held in

Fort Blount Park, 343 West Davidson St at the Lakeland Arts

Association tent. 

Paint en Plein Air 9-12.  

Work will be judged from 12 – 1pm.  

Exhibit works 1 pm-3 pm 

Awards  - totaling $575 -  will be announced at 3pm during the Bloomin’

Arts award ceremony.

Rules:

This event is open to all artists 18 years of age or older.

Artists will check in at the registration tent between 8 - 9am. Up to two

painting surfaces can be stamped. Surfaces may be toned but will not

have any line or image on the surface at time of registration.

Artist setup may not impede the staging of the exhibitors or flow of the

show. Painting will start at 9am and end at 12 noon.

Maximum size 11”x14” or 154 square inches, there is no minimum size.

Frames are optional but will help judging and with sale of the work.

We encourage the sale of your work.  If work is sold, LAA will take a

10% premium to cover the cost of card processing. You will receive a

check in the mail within a week for the balance. There will be no fee for

cash sales. 

Acceptable mediums are watercolor, oil, pastels, acrylic, pencil, ink,

mixed medium and collage. Only 2-dimensional works will be accepted,

photography and digital work will not be accepted in this event.

Judging:

You will need to return by 12:15 pm to the registration tent and check in.

Paintings will be checked for stamps. You will then be directed to the

standing gallery area where you will display your painting on your easel

to be judged.  This area will be monitored by LAA volunteers. 

When you check in with your finished painting you will be given a label

for each piece. You will put your name, telephone number, title,

medium, size and price / NFS. This label will be attached to the painting.

Artists may choose to frame their work to aid in selling it, but it is not

required.

Judging will be between 12 and 1 pm. Winners announced at 3 pm at the

Bloomin’ Arts Awards Ceremony.
