Cyanotype Workshop with Jennifer Kembring-Douglas
Cyanotype: Level 1
This workshop offers an introduction to the playful art of cyanotype, one of the earliest photographic techniques using the sun to expose images. You will learn the essentials to create captivating artwork, including mixing cyanotype chemicals and coating paper.
Using natural sunlight, you will discover how to create photogram prints using plants, flowers, leaves, feathers, or lace. However, you are also encouraged to bring your own objects to make your work truly unique.
You will also learn a more advanced technique using transparencies with printed negative images made in advance. If you are interested in printing your own personal photo, please email me a large file size photograph (at least 1 mb). The photo should contain a nice contrast of darks, lights and mid tones. Email your photo to me before March 5th to be eligible for printing. I will also bring additional general photos to learn the process if you are not able to email me before that date.
Email photos before 3/5/26: Jadouglas72@yahoo.com
(Please write your name & cyanotype workshop in the email subject line.)
